Gabriel Hahn has studied Jazz Drums and Jazz Arranging/Composing at the Music Universities of Munich and Dresden, Germany and obtained his Master’s Degree in 2010. He additionally completed advanced trainings in world percussion, body percussion, singing, beatboxing/vocal percussion and body work.
As a drummer, Gabriel has played with renowned Munich based Jazz artists such as Karen Edwards, Paulo Cardoso, Peter O’Mara, Leszek Zadlo, Christian Elsässer and Claus Reichstaller.
In 2014 he has presented his first performance composition based on the Musical Body at Myzel Sound Performance Festival, Munich.
From that year on, Gabriel gets more and more involved in vocal music and beatboxing, doing the backround parts for famous German pop acts Roger Cicero and Howard Carpendale and co-founding one of the world’s finest sound choirs (and probably the only one…) OHRLABOR.
He currently sings with The Brussels Vocal Project featuring compositions of internationally acclaimed Jazz drummer and composer John Hollenbeck.
Gabriel has been teaching, giving workshops and sharing his experiences around the Musical Body on numerous occasions worldwide, such as the New York Voices International Vocal Jazz Camp or Vocal Asia Festival. Since 2016 he is leading the BodyMusicCollective Berlin.
